Hello, my name is Rachel and I wanted to introduce myself. I am in my late 20's, live in central Wisconsin, with my wonderful husband and two children (puggles, Max and Sam).
I have had a love for miniatures as long as I can remember, but it's only been a couple of years since I have started making and collecting them. I found out fast that miniatures fascinate me and I absolutely LOVE making them, but there is a lot I want to learn and I thought this would be a great place to start. I want to learn more about working with clay, building furniture and creating landscapes.
Please visit my blog at: senamena.blogspot.com to see all the recent projects.

See you in the forum,
Rachel

Rachel - thanks for participating in the forums. My wife, Janice, has been working miniatures for years, but is always encountering something new to learn. I think it is part of be creative. Once she's mastered one technique, she's anxious to take on the next challenge.

We live in Franktown, CO (halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs). We lived in Indiana for many years and made it into Wisconsin several times during the summers. I remember a lot of beautiful, lush landscapes - especially along the lakes.

Our two children are grown and live in Los Angeles, CA and Austin, TX. We have "replaced" them with two small dogs - Bailey (a Pomeranian/American Eskimo mix) and Rosie (a small American Eskimo).

Hi, Rachel--Welcome from me too!

You couldn't do better than Mick when it comes to learning about polymer clay. Look him up under Members List--TheMiniWorldsOfMichael. Link to his albums at Photobucket. His Blog has a lot of photos as well.

He's a sweetheart about answering questions--just please ask them here so we can all learn from him!

I lived in Denver for two years. LOVED it! I also lived in Greley, CO, which I really didn't enjoy all that well.
Do you make it to the Denver mini museum much?

Yes, Greeley did smell BAD!!!! That's one of the reasons I hated living there! YUCK!

I assume you guys are talking about feed lots?
We grew up near Dodge City and ranches--and were always told that was "The Smell Of Money!" I never really bought into that. Or that we had to eat beef three meals a day--I'm one of the few vegetarians to come from Kansas!
