Hi All!

I just stumbled upon you all! Actually, I found you on a blog I was reading but I can't remember which one! Oh dear! My husband MArk and I build dollhouses and castles! We live in Albuquerque, the miniatures wasteland! LOL! No mini stores for hundreds of miles! LOL! There are a few of us that get together at the local Hobby Lobby to make mini's though!
We are pretty new at this, only a year or so but we are having a great time! I am looking forward to reading and learning a lot from you!
Check out my blog for pics of some of our projects and our castle!
Heather!

Hi Heather! Welcome aboard. You sound like a mini addict, too. We can't help ourselves.

Heather,

Thanks for joining us! Have no fear about being new to miniatures. There is a lifetime of new designs and techniques to learn about. Share your projects and ideas for materials and construction methods with us. We all learn from each other.

Let us know if you have any suggestions for improvements to the site. We want to help inspire your next miniature project!

PS - Janice and I live in Colorado (between Denver and Colorado Springs). We love Albuquerque and Santa Fe. There are many great artists in that area.

Heather,
I just had such a good time on your blog--I love fantasy, and I love that you do too! Could you tell me what mold you used for the stones on your Castle? I know you were working from plans, not a kit--you may have mentioned the mold but I missed it. The stones looked really great, and like something I'm looking for.

Have you been to http://erickav.com/evminiatures_index.htm, to see Erika Van Horn's beautiful items for wizards and other magic folk? Scrolls--Decorated Books--Orreries--Armillaries--wonderful Decorated Tables.

I'm getting good at scrolls, if you need any technique information. Still working on telescopes and orreries! I found a great bag of brass tube parts at Hobby Lobby last week--I was excited--I have several wizard uses for them.
